Social work practice with older people

These learning resources centre on a single case study of Don and Madge, a retired couple dealing with the consequences of ageing.

This case is designed to explore some of the issues associated with escalating care and support needs in late life. The resources are intended to help social workers deal with complex needs and end of life cases, whilst maintaining and enhancing the quality of life and wellbeing of older people and their families.

The work was commissioned by the Department of Health and developed in partnership between RiPfA and Gero (g)8, a group of social work academics engaged in research and teaching in gerontology and gerontological social work in UK universities.
