Recent rises in living costs are putting incredible pressure on both services and families. We are looking for professionals to take part in research about families facing persistent financial challenge and the impact this has on children’s social care.
Take part in a study designed to inform the development of evidenced-informed policies and support that improves families’ financial circumstances and outcomes for children.
In Summer 2024, the first round of discussion groups took place. We are now looking to recruit for a second round of discussions in Spring 2025 to share what we have learned so far and to build upon this knowledge.
We are interested to hear from professionals who, as either practitioners or team managers:
- Work directly with children and families in England who experience persistent concerns about money (financial precarity).
- Have an interest in sharing their reflections about supporting families experiencing financial precarity and how this impacts referrals to children’s social care.
- Have an interest in the data and information collected about families facing financial precarity and how this is used or shared.
We hope to include professionals from different regions of England, and from a range of children's services including local authorities and Independent Trusts children’s services, and other agencies such as health and education, and third sector services.
The discussion groups will take place on the following dates:
- 9:30-11:00, 25 March.
- 12:30-14:00, 25 March.
Register your interest to take part in this study. Please also share with colleagues in your organisation who may want to take part.
