13:00 - 14:00 Thursday, 18 September 2025

Join an open access webinar that will focus on how we work with ethnically or racially minoritised people living with dementia or mental health needs. We will examine key findings from three linked evidence briefings.

This is the first in a series of open access webinars from the ConnectED project.

The ConnectED project is funded by NIHR and aims to help professionals in adult social care make better decisions by growing their ability to use research.

The project is centred around Research Practice Partnerships (RPPs) with adult social care services, universities and people with lived experience. The RPPs take a ‘learning by doing’ approach to building the capacity of staff to find and appraise research – they have produced a series of evidence briefings in response to key questions and priorities from the practice partners.

The webinar series will highlight findings from several of the evidence briefings as well as key learning from working in an RPP approach.

Learning outcomes

As a result of attending this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Consider intersectionality as a lens for practice and decision-making to better support people accessing care services.
  • Understand what some of the barriers to accessing services are for people who are racially minoritised.
  • Consider what is needed to better support practitioners to do the best they can to support people who are racially minoritised.
  • Understand what we need to consider when making decisions so we can commission services that can better support people who are racially minoritised.
