Recording and maintaining CPD to support practice

It’s important to demonstrate and record how you are continuing to develop in your practice. To support you we have brought together resources and guidance that provide an understanding of CPD.

As social care professionals it’s important to demonstrate and record how you are continuing to develop in your practice.

There can be a common misconception that continuing professional development (CPD) is just about attending training, however it can range from attending a course to having a discussion with a colleague to reading a piece of research, practice tool or case law – anything that has had a positive impact upon your practice and development.

Anyone with a Research in Practice account can easily keep an ongoing record of their CPD by logging in and navigating to ‘My CPD’. To support you to do this, we have brought together resources and guidance that provide an understanding of both the regulation and recording of CPD.
