09:30 - 15:30 Thursday, 26 February 2026

Overview

A life course perspective is an approach that examines an individual's life as a whole. It recognises that development is lifelong and influenced by intersecting social, economic and environmental factors.

Our adults Partnership Conference will explore how to take a life course perspective to adult sexual exploitation. Taking place online, we will consider how both support needs and opportunities can present throughout a person’s life.

Speakers will share insights from people with lived experience, practice and research to help inform how we understand and respond to the sexual exploitation of adults.

Learning outcomes

This event will support learners to:

  • Explore how taking a life course approach can inform responses to sexual exploitation.
  • Consider the challenges and opportunities for safeguarding across the life course.
  • Reflect upon learning from people with lived experience, practice and research in this area.
  • Identify opportunities to develop more effective, trauma-informed and person-centred support.
