Good decision-making in adult social care (2025)
Part of Good decision-making in adult social care.
Introduction
This resource is a relaunch of the Good Decision Making: Practitioner Handbook (2013). The project brought together research and practice to look at the capabilities that practitioners need to make good decisions within adult social care. In 2024, the handbook was reviewed. A brief scoping review was completed to identify new evidence, law and policy, and standards related to decision-making.
Accompanying exercises and tools are available as part of the online version of this resource.
Co-developed with people who have lived experience of social care and with practitioners. With grateful thanks to: Shabnam Ahmed, Susan Bruce, Peter Feldon, Deirdre Ford, Victoria Grimwood, Anne Irvine, Louise Johnstone, Robert Jones, Martin Robertson, Naomi Russell, Amanda M.L. Taylor-Beswick, Dan Timariu and Martin Walker.
