Supporting our Partners
The Research in Practice Partner network steers much of our work, with nearly 150 local, national and voluntary sector member organisations.
Our Partners shape our programme of learning events and resources, ensuring that they meet the needs and priorities of the sector. In 2019 we also reshaped our offers to extend this to universities and academic institutions, providing access to evidence-informed learning and development opportunities for academic staff, students and future social work professionals.
We have been pleased to welcome 25 new organisations to our Partner network in the past year. This includes eight new children & families members, ten adults, and seven Partners with joint membership to both of our offers:
We are delighted to see this continued growth and endeavour to support connected learning, encouraging Partners to work together and share innovation across both geographical and service boundaries.

New Research in Practice website
Following feedback from our network we launched a new website at the beginning of 2020. Driven by Partners, and to support joined-up working, we brought together our two existing websites Research in Practice and Research in Practice for Adults, together as one.
Our new site has many enhanced features to provide easier access to high-quality information, training and resources to help individuals make evidence-informed decisions. You can now focus on either children and families, or adults – and joint Partners can access everything in one place.
Our work 2019-20
As part of membership to the Research in Practice network, Partners have access to a range of learning opportunities and receive regular updates on the latest news and information, including case law, research evidence and policy.
Each year our events and resources are shaped in consultation with the Partner network, aiming to address specific needs and priorities of the sector.
