Diversity, equity and inclusion: Community of Practice
Diversity, equity and inclusion: Community of Practice
Delivered online using Teams
10:00 - 12:00 Tuesday, 8 December 2026
Research in Practice and the National Children’s Bureau are committed to advancing diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) in practical, meaningful ways.
After two successful events for DEI Leads, we would like to build on that energy by setting up a dedicated DEI Community of Practice (CoP). We invite you to join us for the first session on 8 December, 10:00–12:00.
What the CoP is for
The CoP will be a supportive, collaborative space where members can:
- stay connected with peers working on DEI
- discuss emerging challenges and solve problems together
- share practical tools, resources and approaches
- showcase good practice from their organisations
- find examples that can inform organisational policy, strategy, practice and learning.
Through regular, honest conversation and shared learning, we hope members will feel better equipped and more confident in progressing their DEI priorities.
Who it is for
The CoP is open to colleagues who:
- lead or contribute to diversity, equality, equity and inclusion in their organisation
- support or coordinate employee networks.
It is relevant to people in corporate roles and to those working in social care, health or related sectors.
Learning Outcomes
- Understand the aims of the DEI Community of Practice and the ways it can support them in their role.
- Identify peers across corporate, social care, health and related sectors they can connect with for ongoing support and collaboration.
- Discuss current and emerging DEI challenges in their organisations and explore practical ways to address them with others.
- Share and take away at least one practical tool, resource or approach to apply in their own setting.
