Responding to sexual exploitation during the transition to adulthood
Sexual Exploitation During the Transition to Adulthood
Sexual Exploitation During the Transition to Adulthood
Sexual exploitation involves an abuse of power where individuals are coerced, manipulated, or deceived into sexual activity, often through grooming, threats or violence.
The transition from childhood to adulthood presents risks and challenges. Variations in laws, support, and responsibilities can create gaps in safeguarding. Ensuring that responses are trauma-informed, person-centred, and joined-up during this key period is essential. Effective Transitional Safeguarding helps professionals identify ongoing exploitation, reduce harm, and support positive outcomes in adulthood.
Join a workshop that will explore Transitional Safeguarding and the use of the Tackling Child Exploitation Support Programme Practice Principles to guide professionals in responding to sexual exploitation, using case examples, discussion and reflective exercises.
